Texas Science Festival 2026

From Feb. 18 to March 5, the Texas Science Festival brings research to life through events that connect UT with the Austin community. Hosted by the College of Natural Sciences, the festival has grown from a virtual event in 2021 to a two-week tradition welcoming scientists, students and the public to the Forty Acres. Explore a few highlighted events below.

February 18: Quantum and Queries Live! at the Cactus
Join an unforgettable evening where science meets comedy, live music and demos — all on one special night at the historic Cactus Café.

February 23: UT Brainstorms Presents: The Online Brain
Enjoy a panel conversation with leading experts about brain processes affected by social media and computer gaming.

February 28: STEM Girl Day
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Women in STEM hosts K-8th grade students and their families on campus to explore hands-on activities at this free event.

March 4: In the Stars: Texas Chautauqua 
Explore the mysteries of space and the enduring role of stars in science, history and culture at this panel organized for the 2026 Texas Chautauqua.
