This 5-week virtual group will be facilitated by Laura Gomez-Horton, LCSW-S via Zoom on Thursdays, 12:00-1:00 p.m. starting April 2, 2026. Group is limited to 12 participants. Before joining, you’ll need to complete a pre-group interview with the facilitator. To schedule your interview, please email eap@austin.utexas.edu. If you’d like an individual meeting to talk about the group and other elements of grief before the group starts, please email to request a counseling session with Laura, or call 512-471-3366.

Finding focus doesn’t have to be a solo mission. Side by Side is a virtual therapeutic group designed for UT faculty and staff who experience ADHD, autism, or executive functioning challenges. Whether you’re having trouble getting started, staying on task, or simply want supportive company while you work, this group offers structure, accountability, and connection.

"Supporting Neurodivergent Family Members: Practical Tools for Communication and Connection," presented by Amy E. Eskelsen, LICSW, LCSW-S, MBA on Wednesday, April 15th from noon to 1 p.m.
Families often care deeply about one another—and still struggle to feel heard and understood. This one-hour webinar provides a clear, accessible introduction to neurodivergence and how it can impact family communication. Participants will learn practical, everyday strategies to improve understanding, reduce conflict, and support neurodivergent family members with empathy and clarity. Designed for caregivers and family members, this session focuses on realistic tools that can be used right away.

Attendees will learn how to use Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Psychological Safety to turn workplace feedback from a source of tension into an opportunity for professional growth and sustained career resilience. This interactive, application-based session provides practical tools for navigating workplace feedback exchanges. Participants will learn about the different types of feedback, strategies to minimize miscommunication, and tools to regulate their nervous systems during feedback conversations, helping both the giver and receiver stay present, engaged, action-focused, and growth-oriented.
