Parents are being asked to manage the difficulties brought on by these social and political  stressors while also handling the psychological and biological changes that come from the act of forming a relationship with their children. This workshop will provide steps that parents can take to care for their emotional wellbeing.

In our November Lunchtime Lecture, Dr. Stephen Reese will reflect on the issues raised by his recent book by the same title. As polarized factions in society pull apart from economic dislocation, tribalism, and fear, and as strident attacks on the press make its survival more precarious, the need for an institutionally organized forum in civic life has become increasingly important.

Join the Salem Center for a series of talks and panels by philosophers and physicians who demonstrate that: (1) it is has always been the lack of freedom in medicine that causes the problems to which socialization and regulation are demanded as solutions; (2) a truly free market in medicine is a moral and practical imperative; and (3) there are practicable first steps that would improve the healthcare of Americans in the short term by moving us (longer-term) in the direction of this ideal.
