Spring is a time to leverage the introspection of Winter, let go of what no longer serves us, and plant new intentions to mindfully cultivate meaningful experiences to come.
This 75-minute IN PERSON mindfulness workshop includes a gentle hatha yoga practice appropriate for all levels and ability, breathwork, journaling, and guided visualization. We practice intentional silence during this session to enjoy the stress reducing benefits that pausing and reflecting can bring to our body and being.
The retreat will be facilitated by Geeti Shirazi Mahajan, LCSW-S, one of the counselors at the Employee Assistance Program. Geeti is also certified as a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).
The workshop will be held in person in the Rowling Hall Special Events Room (RRH 5.210) on Wednesday, March 4th, from 10:30am-12:00pm. Please sign up through UT Learn to reserve your spot.

"Running Away from home: the phenomenon of parent/adult child estrangement and repair possibilities" presented by Dr. Emily Mohr on Friday, March 6, 2025 from noon to 1 p.m. This presentation will discuss the increasingly visible phenomenon of estrangement between adult children and parents. We will talk about the what, who, and why of family estrangement, as well as the repair experience and evidence-based strategies to support a healthier path back together. We will use attachment theory to frame the discussion through a science-driven lens and leave plenty of time for Q&A.
